I Tried An Amazon Eyelash Dying Kit For $14

I have grown into a strong, beautiful, independent woman WITH some pretty blonde eyelashes.

Now, I can’t say that this has been a huge insecurity of mine when you’re always wearing mascara. But sometimes a girl just wants some dark, luscious eyelashes that are still VISIBLE without mascara on.

Anyway, I was doing some research, as one does when looking for beauty hacks, and stumbled across an Amazon product that was in just the right price range and had just enough positive reviews to sell me on it.

Delivery

I ordered the dye on Friday, July 5 and the shipping confirmation told me it would be here the following Wednesday.

On Wednesday I got an email that it was running behind and should be here the next day.

So as soon as I saw the mail lady droppin’ off some Amazon packages I ran down and there she was, ready to dye my translucent eyelashes.

There was a *short* delay, but nothin’ I couldn’t handle.

Instructions

The box came as pictured with several products inside including a 10 mL bottle of developer, a tube of black dye, 20+ under-eye protecting strips, a white stirrer, a spoolie, and a “mixing bowl” which is the round indent in the packaging you see under the stirrer.

A few things they asked YOU to have on hand were q-tips, petroleum jelly, and a bowl of cold water.

OH! Also, this product can be used on eyelashes and eyebrows. Since my eyebrows are light, I was a 100 percent not dying them black.

The instruction manual broke application down by whether you were using this on your lashes or brows and if you were doing it yourself or if someone was doing it for you.

I did my lashes myself, daunting, I know. But it wasn’t too complicated.

Application

The first step in using the product is to do a test on your skin by putting the mixed product on the corner of the outside of your eyebrow and then wait 48 hours later to see if you have a reaction.

I don’t have that kind of patience so I said screw it and just did it anyway.

Step 1 is to make sure all of your eye makeup was taken off with an oil-free makeup remover.

Step 2 is to take petroleum jelly and spread it on one side of two eye protecting strips and press them gently to your under-eyes as close as you can get to your waterline without getting the vaseline on your lower lashes.

Step 3 is the fun part. Take the spoolie and roll it through the product and then apply it as if you’re putting on mascara!

In doing this, it is VITAL that you make sure you keep the product as close to your lash line as possible and cover all of your lashes.

ALSO make sure that you do not get the product on your skin or in your eye.

If you get the product on your eye, it burns. It kinda feels like when you touch your eye after eating a jalapeño, yes, I got some in my eye.

My bloodshot eyes make me look even prettier ♥️

And if you get it on your skin and don’t notice it in time, it will stain. I got it on my finger, but thankfully, not my eye.

Step 4 is to simply wait 10 minutes for the product to process.

I started off just waiting with my eyes open, but because I got the product in my eye, they started to water and I didn’t want any of the product to tear off. So I kept my eyes shut for most of the time.

Step 5 last but not least, is take the product off! To do this, you need to take your Q-tip and dip it into your bowl of water and wipe the product off your eyelashes AWAY from your eye.

Since my eyes were closed, I had Lucas do it for me and had him just stroke downward on my lashes with the q-tip.

Then you DAB the rest of the product from your eyes with a damp cloth.

Then FINALLY you are done!

Can we just talk about these results?

Yes, my eyelashes are like really spare BUT look at the color difference. There is a significantly darker tone to both after photos.

I’m extremely happy with how they turned out.

4 Days Post-Application

It’s been four days since I applied the dye to my lashes and they look the same as they did after I removed the dye.

I haven’t worn makeup too often and have removed eye makeup twice since then and it has still held up well. The box says it should last 4-6 weeks so I will update this post closer to the end!

What do you think, are you going to try this product? Let me know in the comments or DMs!

Also hit me up if you have any products/brands you want me to try out or if you have any questions on this product!

Thanks for stopping by ☆
